Default Question about Icy Drago Sword

so the Icy Dragon Sword has an Icy Hilt on it, can you not replace the hilt with a sundering hilt? i would have thought you could but i think i've heard otherwise, just want to confirm. If you can not replace the hilt, like you can on other weapons, why?

Thanks a bunch!

you cannot replace the hilt. the ids and fds are special weapons. it wouldn't really make sense to have a sundering dragon sword. what would it look like without the flame or umm... icy vapor thingie...?

nope, its like the fiery one. Can't replace the hilt though you can add pommels to them. I'm guessing you can't just coz its the fiery or icy that gives the pretty effect (in theory, not in reality) so a fiery dragon sword flaming away without a fiery hilt would be...well... wrong

You can however salvage the sword to use the Icy mod on another weapon....

another question about ids...........

So far the only advantage i can see to having them is on a 2nd weap set, to use in FA/Oro farming when a necro casts Shivers........on a boss.......

Maybe on using on fire creatures, or Titans..........?

that all?

Because IDS looks cool, why else u want to use it?
If u want to go PVE or PVP, get urself a real weapon for cry out loud!

Try a 15k Ele Water Armor (Dye Yellow) + IDS with Peppermint Shield.
= Sweet Cold Cute

Try a 15k Ele Water Armor (Dye Yellow) + FDS with Peppermint Shield.
= Sweet Hot Sexy

well yea, basically the only "advantage" of an IDS is against monsters with low cold resistence. but of course, remember that it will do the same amount of dmg as non elemental swords in most places.

Actually Excer, it will generally do more damage than a plain non-elemental sword because most monsters have a general resistance to physical damage, while the IDS puts out elemental damage (which avoids that armor bonus).
